Account Explainer Video - Lingraphica

Table of Contents
Brief/Challenge
In 2023, Lingraphica updated their online account system that tied every one of their online services into one simple login (a la Google or Apple iCloud). There was a lot of confusion from our employees since at the time, the old account system was in fact running alongside the new account system. So someone might know how to update an account in one system but not the other which led to many account issues internally (which I was responsible for resolving as the Business System Analyst)
Solution
As the Business Systems Analyst, I decided to create a 3-minute high quality training video to onboard new employees and help reduce account management issues throughout the company.
Since I was the one troubleshooting and resolving the account issues, I was the most qualified to deliver something relevant to culture of our internal employees. I understood that in a remote-first environment, a 3-minute video seemed much more digestible compared to a boring PDF that seems like every other document.
I written a script to ensure I hit all of the major points I wanted to cover and used ElevenLabs' AI voice to narrate it. I gathered some screenshots, some funny gifs and edited every together in DaVinci Resolve Studio with some neat animations and free music.
Outcome
The video was added to our internal video learning system and was a smash hit...is what I would say. While the video was added to the our Learning System and a few people viewed it, I ended up sending a link to the video whenever someone slacked me about how accounts worked. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. You have to hold their mouth open and feed them the link directly. Or something, I am not a philosopher.
All jokes aside, the video did do well and it did help to reduce some of the account issues. Not everything is guaranteed to be a smashing success but it is important to take what you learn pivot with the changing tides.
I was very impressed with ElevenLabs AI voice and I did make use of the technology for another project where I created 2-minute video summaries of past sprints. That project had a lot more going on and I might do a write up on it in the future.
